Those who have watched NXT know that Ivy Nile has loads of potential and could be a breakout star on the main roster in 2024.

Monday, the rest of the WWE fanbase got to see that firsthand.

Nile challenged Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship, and the undersized superstar hung in there and put the champ back on her heels a few times, including countering a superplex with an elevated German suplex for a close two count. Ivy showed fire and perseverance, getting fans to rally behind her… right up until Rhea headbutted her out of the sky and put her away with a Riptide.

For Ripley, this was a solid start to her 2024 after spending the first half of 2023 rarely defending the title and getting over more for her role in Judgment Day than as a dominant wrestling force. For Nile, this was a great way to get her over with fans and show that she belongs.
