5 Ups & 7 Downs From WWE Raw (18 May - Results & Review)

3. ‘Chaotic’ = Sloppy

You’ve got to love WWE code, when they describe a match a certain way to cover for the action being broadcast. Jim Ross used to call matches “bowling shoe ugly” when they were downright messes, for example.

Monday night, the announcers described the tag match between Women’s Tag Team Champions Brie Bella and Paige and the Judgment Day as “chaotic,” right as Brie had gotten a hot tag and was taking down Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez with a flurry of offense. Translation: It wasn’t pretty.

The best thing you can say about Brie and Paige as a tag team is that they kept the match moving and didn’t rely on rest holds to fill the time. But otherwise, this was a sloppy match that played out largely to silence. When Paige tried screaming “This is our house!”, fans all but sat on their hands. It actually was really sad to witness.

Bayley and Lyra Valkyria would make the save when the Judgment Day attacked the victorious tag champs after the match. At least WWE is keeping the carousel turning with tag title contenders, but in the absence of good matches and compelling stories, these mini-feuds are going to continue to play out to silence.
