As much as this writer would love to see the Viking Raiders ascend to the top of the tag division, they’re not going to take the titles off AJ Styles & Omos yet. But it’s good to see them finally take a step forward.

The Raiders won a tag team battle royal to earn a future title shot against the champs, tossing Randy Orton at the end to pick up the victory. Since returning after WrestleMania 37, Erik & Ivar have been victimized by WWE’s haphazard booking, as they disappeared for much of May, only showing up in a couple of backstage segments.

They reemerged on Monday and looked strong, brawling with the other bruisers in the match, T-Bar & Mace, and avoiding the silliness the preceded the match. A tag title match pitting hard-hitters like the Raiders against AJ & Omos could make for an interesting match: Omos hasn’t really faced guys who have an arsenal like Erik & Ivar.

We’re not suggesting the Vikings will overthrow the champs, but this could be an interesting match, to see if Omos shows some weakness.
