5 Ups & 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (June 7)

2. Geek Celebration, Part 3

Just who is supposed to be getting over in this Nikki Cross/Rhea Ripley/Charlotte Flair storyline? Because if we had to guess, the answer would be, “D. None of the Above.”

For the third consecutive week, Cross got the better of the two, this time in a tag match with Asuka as her mystery partner. Naturally, Ripley and Flair couldn’t co-exist (shocker!) and brawled, leading to Charlotte hitting Natural Selection on the Raw Women’s Champion, allowing Nikki to pin the champ in the center of the ring.

And then, just in case you were supposed to think Cross was a serious competitor, she celebrated like she had won the Super Bowl, dancing around and then climbing on top of the announcer’s desk and stripping off her outer jacket and dancing some more (and Asuka joined her). Just to be clear, Nikki was celebrating winning a match where she performed no offensive move that directly led to her winning. She won because her opponents imploded.

It’s just the geekiest thing she could do and makes Cross, a legit performer with credentials, look like a goof. And you pinned your women’s champion because God forbid Charlotte take a pinfall loss. It’s all just so, so stupid.
