Oh snap!

Last year, Xia Li was competing in her first wrestling match at the Mae Young Classic. Wednesday night, she showed some real improvement, squaring off against veteran Karen Q in the first round.

Xia and Karen drew a huge response right away by bowing to each other and then striking fighting poses and briefly battling with martial arts. But that broke down quickly and fell into a wrestling match, with Q playing the heel and hitting Li with a full nelson slam and Samoan Drop.

But Xia kept coming with kicks, which actually looked pretty good, and she capitalized on a missed frogsplash to hit a spinning axe kick for the win.

Li still has a ways to go, but she looked pretty good Wednesday night and hopefully will continue to improve as time wears on.
