Coming out of Extreme Rules, WWE knew they could easily book an opening segment featuring Seth Rollins on Monday Night Raw. Equally, management were aware that fans would go crazy for the returning star. Whilst his resultant heelish promo did make sense from a character perspective, it also felt a little disappointing.

Rollins acted like he was justified in berating the fans, which is fine. He was a villain before he left, and he's clearly going to continue as one now. The problem still lies with Roman Reigns however, WWE surely can't expect people to cheer him against Seth at Money In The Bank.

It appears that's the plan, and it was one furthered on this week's episode of SmackDown. Meanwhile, the penultimate slot in the Money In The Bank Ladder Match was filled by someone who has been largely forgotten about since the League Of Nations disbanded. At least now Alberto Del Rio has something to build towards on television over the next few weeks.

The announcement that SmackDown is going live in July could have made this week's show feel like filler, but that wasn't the case.
