5 Ups And 3 Downs From Last Night's WWE Smackdown

1. Kane Destroying Everybody Was Unnecessary

At 'Live From Madison Square Garden', The New Day will defend the WWE Tag-Team Titles against The Dudley Boyz. That particular match is one of the most enticing on the card, but it wasn't treated as such on Smackdown. At the end of the 6-man tag-team main event, 'Demon' Kane laid out pretty much everybody, but Seth Rollins managed to barely escape from his grasp. The New Day are one of the most entertaining acts on WWE television right now, and The Dudley Boyz have just returned to the promotion. It's understandable that the writers would want to book Kane strongly, but there was little need for him to single-handedly wipe everyone out at the end of Smackdown. Admittedly, it perhaps does paint Kane as more of a monster. That said, all concerned were treated like little more than canon fodder. The story was that Kane's frustration grew once he couldn't get to Seth Rollins, therefore he decided to take out his anger on The Dudleyz and The New Day. It would have been better if The New Day had managed to escape, keeping them strong for the title match on the WWE Network.
