2. Too Many Short Matches
It wasn't only Cesaro vs. The Miz that was criminally short, too many bouts on Smackdown suffered from the same treatment. Tyler Breeze vs. Zack Ryder was just over one minute long, and Big E vs. Kalisto was exactly the same. Even Charlotte vs. Brie Bella only lasted 4 minutes or so. The result was that these clashes didn't feel worthwhile. WWE are moving Smackdown to the USA Network in January, and it appears they are just killing time with the show until then. There's no other explanation for why scenarios like this take place. There's a lack of care presiding over the broadcast more often than not, and it's pretty unacceptable. Every match taking place on the show should have purpose. Admittedly, Ryback did become involved in The New Day's segment with Kalisto, but did the match really need to be so brief? Over the course of 3 matches, WWE presented less than 5 minutes of in-ring action from bell-to-bell. That's not value for money for fans who attended the taping, even if they did get some other matches that weren't aired on TV.
