5 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night’s WWE NXT (April 22)

3. Every Title Match Built, In Only 48 Minutes

WWE main roster, take note. NXT successfully addressed and built feuds for all of its titles last night, and it only took them 48 minutes. Many of the matches on the Extreme Rules card still feel utterly tacked on. RAW had 180 minutes. Sure, the main roster has more plates to spin but the fact that NXT can accomplish the same, if not more, narrative progression in under a third of the time it takes for RAW, speaks volumes as to the advantages of simple consistent storytelling. Sasha Banks vs Becky Lynch will be built on competing egos and a former friendship. Cass and Enzo vs Blake and Murphy rotates around their constant attempts to steal away Carmella Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens is built on betrayal and vicious physical abuse. Can anyone say what Luke Harper vs Dean Ambrose is about? Or Bryan vs Barrett? True, Bryan's health issues are more responsible for that feud having no life, but still, there have been no promos from Barrett in his absence, which is lazy. NXT continues to confirm the theory that simpler is better.
