5 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (May 6)
2. Contract Signing Turns Up The Heat
The hottest feud last night revolves around the upcoming battle between Sasha Banks and her former protege, Becky Lynch. NXT have done a fine job in building Lynch as a credible champion, playing off her impressive history and experience overseas, as well as her determination and ambition. The interviews and video packages that they've been airing of her have been genuinely affecting. But don't count Banks out yet. She also had a strong showing last night, delivering a backstage promo about how she made Lynch and could destroy her with a click of her fingers. Then came the contract signing. First off, how cool is it that we get to see a Woman's Championship contract signing on TV? When was the last time the Divas division was treated with a similar amount of respect? Lynch delivered an impassioned speech about becoming champ, while Banks showed off her boss credentials by signing the contract with a stamp, a nice touch. It turned violent as these things often do, with Banks standing on the signing table, on Lynch's head. The Irish-born star got the last laugh however, wrenching Banks' arm and forcing her to tap out. You could argue that with all the promos and this segment, the two woman received almost too much attention last night, but the match looks harder to call at Unstoppable now, which will make for a better night for both ladies.
