Say what you want about Michael Cole and everyone does exactly that, but the Voice of the WWE carries a certain amount of weight, which he bestowed upon the Zayn/Owens feud last night. Throughout the night, Cole interviewed each man, probing into their shared history and eliciting emotional reactions from them about the way their friendship has crumbled. He was particularly impressive interviewing Kevin Owens. He needled the champ, trying to scrape from him his reasons for brutalising Sami Zayn. Owens remained implacable throughout, forcing Cole to verbally attack him, telling Owens to show him respect by being honest with him. Fans haven't seen this much fire from Cole in a while and it added to the boiling fury that existed between the NXT Champion and his challenger. Producing two of the better segments from last night, Zayn and Owens' feud is not only a product of both men's exemplary talent, but they owe a little to Michael Cole as well.
