5 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Christmas Eve)
1. Boring Corbin Gets Main Event Slot
Last week, the entire McMahon family promised fans more of what they wanted, and less of what they didn’t.
Clearly for this episode, “fans” meant Corey Graves only, because we got Baron Corbin in the main event against Seth Rollins. Corbin was demoted from his acting GM position after losing to Braun Strowman last week at TLC, then lost a second-chance match against Kurt Angle. So naturally, he landed the main event again this week in a grudge match against Rollins, who defeated him cleanly.
The Corbin experiment has failed, and it’s time to dial back on his screen time, not maintain it. Maybe they should do an injury angle with him, or have him form a tag team. Something needs to change, for Corbin.
Much like a baseball manager who’s lost the team, you can’t then demote him and keep him in the organization. Perhaps a trade back to SmackDown or some time off would help…
