The big mystery heading into Raw was whether the rumors were true about John Cena’s participation in Crown Jewel this Friday, and how WWE would write him off if that was the case.

We got our answer in the most backhanded way. After Bobby Lashley attacked Finn Balor after a DQ loss, he was summoned to meet with acting GM Baron Corbin. The Lone Wolf told Lashley that he was impressed with the beatdown, and because of it, he qualified for the Best in the World tournament at Crown Jewel.

When Lashley asked who he was replacing, Corbin said it was “someone who didn’t qualify:” Cena. While it’s technically true that Cena never actually qualified for the tournament, it was a stretch to then stick a guy in his place because he beat up another wrestler who had just beaten him two weeks in a row.

But hey, Cena’s sticking up for his morals, and we ain’t got time for that.
