5 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (June 10)

6. Corbin’s Power

Remember when Baron Corbin was deposed as Raw GM? The McMahon family humiliated (go figure) and belittled him before having Braun Strowman demolish him in consecutive matches. Clearly the family didn’t think too highly of the former Olive Garden waiter.

Since then, he’s managed to somehow obtain enough stroke backstage to get a rematch for the Universal Championship after losing it, and gets to handpick his own referee. Because reasons.

This isn’t some huge gripe (aside from the normal “Why is Baron Corbin getting a world title push?”), but it’s reflective of the problems facing WWE these days. There’s no internal logic to anything anymore. What changed to put him back in WWE leadership’s good graces? How is he able to dictate title rematches and stipulations.

Of course, it doesn’t help that Corbin is Corbin, and you can’t shake the feeling of dread that he’s going to win a world title at some point. And then, it’s breadsticks for everyone!
