2. RKO For Your Troubles

If you didn’t see Beth Phoenix eating an RKO at the end of the main event promo segment, you haven’t been a wrestling fan for very long.

Orton finally gave his explanation for why he bashed Edge with a steel chair more than a month ago, delivering the message to his wife, Phoenix. The message was that he loved Edge so much that he had to take the Rated-R Superstar out so he couldn’t get injured worse while trying to return to action. He attacked Edge to save him, and save their daughters’ father.

It was an extremely twisted rationale – which it was supposed to be – and Beth didn’t buy it, slapping Orton. But when he called her a “b*tch” off-mic, she kicked him and quickly suffered an RKO.

And now, the next phase of this storyline can move forward. Not too shabby, and we’re looking forward to seeing how Edge finally responds.
