5 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (March 9th)

3. Cena Goes Primal

Sometimes, words won€™t do it. Told last week that he would have to convince Rusev to grant him a U.S. Championship rematch at WrestleMania, John Cena could have just talked incessantly about how he deserved a title shot, or he could have played €œmind games,€ or he could have hurled sophomoric insults to egg Rusev on. Instead, Cena dared Rusev to badmouth America, threatening to shut him up. When Rusev took the bait, Cena simply stalked to the ring and locked him in a submission hold until he passed out. Then he revived Rusev and slapped the STF on him again until Lana begged for mercy and granted Cena his Mania title match. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnC4k_BuZi0 Cena didn€™t deliver a promo afterward, he just smirked and walked away. It was a simple, yet effective, way to get what he wanted. He goaded and attacked. There was something refreshing about that for a change. It will be interesting to see how things progress these last two-plus weeks, whether Rusev is going to get his comeuppance or stay an undefeated monster.
