5 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (September 10)

2. A Well-Deserved Promotion

Setting aside her gushing praise of the Bella Twins, Renee Young being named a permanent member of the Raw announce team was the right move Monday night.

Young has had staying power with WWE and been one of their better “talking heads” during her time with the company. She is wholly qualified and an immediate upgrade over Jonathan Coachman. She knows wrestling, speaks clearly and passionately, and brings a fresh perspective to the booth that WWE has never really had.

Renee is more than just an attractive woman – consider that on commentary, she’s rarely on camera – so this promotion is about her ability and skills, not aesthetics. As long as she isn’t over-produced and is allowed to be herself (with minimal Bella-praising), she should be a welcome addition.
