Downs...

9. Cheapest Of Cheap Pops

Fans responded strongly to Enzo Amore & Big Cass Sunday, especially during their promo, which name-dropped a couple Boston sports legends.

Enzo & Cass will sometimes use local references to rally the fans to their side, and Sunday, they mentioned Celtics great Larry Bird and Red Sox star David “Big Papi” Ortiz, drawing big cheers. However, there’s one small thing that should count against the duo: They’re from New York. Even casual sports fans know of the intense rivalry between the Yankees and Red Sox (and Enzo has worn pinstripes gear on occasion), so two New York guys playing to a Boston crowd for a cheap pop was, well, cheap.

And before the onslaught of negative comments fly, keep in mind this is a somewhat tongue-in-cheek “down.” Enzo & Cass are a fun act, and this isn’t some conspiracy against them. But as a longtime baseball fan, this writer can’t let that transgression pass by unnoticed. Tsk tsk.
