5. Failing - Too Little Focus On Diversity
Yes, this has been one of the growing complaints of AEW in the last year or so and, to be fair, it is a valid one. While the likes of WWE have a stacked roster of black main event performers such as Bobby Lashley, The New Day, and Sasha Banks, AEW’s roster has always felt a lot whiter by comparison.
Sure, there are a couple of notable exceptions, such as Jade Cargill in the women’s division, and, on top of that, there are a good amount of Latin and Asian talent on the show too. But still, when it comes to black wrestlers, AEW remains sorely lacking.
To be fair, though, the company has been showing some signs of improvement in this area recently by signing the likes of Lee Moriarty, but it remains way behind where they should be at this point and it doesn’t help the public perception when Tony Khan gets into Twitter spats with people such as Big Swole either.
