...CM Punk. He may have been the 'Best in the World', but the Chicago-native couldn't buy a win at Night of Champions. With the way he departed, there is an overriding feeling that Punk's career in WWE will always be unfinished, that a lot more could have been achieved. This isn't entirely fair, as being the longest reigning WWE Champion of the modern era (in an era where titles get passed around) is nothing to scoff at. Still, he never won at Night of Champions, in six attempts. Who did he lose to?

In 2008 he came up short against Johnny Nitro (Morrison) in a match everyone assumed he would win, for the then-vacant ECW Championship. The following year saw him drop the World Heavyweight title to Jeff Hardy, as part of their excellent summer-long saga. 2010 was a bit of a bust for Punk, as he lost to Big Show in under five minutes not long after losing his hair to Rey Mysterio.

The following three years saw Punk take part in three big matches, but each ended with his shoulders being pinned to the mat. In 2011 he lost the main event to Triple H, in a match that would have seen Hunter lose control of the company if he lost. In 2012 he drew with John Cena as part of his record-breaking run with the title, but Punk was portrayed lucky to have survived. Finally, 2013 saw him lose to Paul Heyman and Curtis Axel in a 2-on-1 No DQ match. Axel was incapacitated for most of the match, which saw Punk lay a beating on poor Heyman, only for Ryback to interfere and help Heyman pick up the victory,

So there you have, the best and the worst records that Night of Champions has offered. Who will improve/degrade their own records this year? Will Seth Rollins win both his matches to join Daniel Bryan in the 3 for 3 world? Only time will tell...

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
