5 Wrestlers Who Could Be Adam Cole's Secret AEW Return Opponent

2. Jay White

So unpredictable is the pro wrestling landscape in 2023 that WWE is purportedly the favourite to land Jay White, not the Tony Khan-fronted All Elite Wrestling.

A previously unthinkable landing point for a multi-time NJPW champion, White had made a career out of being an AEW-lite wrestler in the puroresu market leader, so much so that he's already been in AEW, largely being affiliated with Adam Cole during his three brief stints.

White first showed up in February 2022, aiding Cole and the Young Bucks in battering Roppongi Vice, followed by joining Cole in interrupting the official declaration of AEW and NJPW's inaugural Forbidden Door pay-per-view that April. 'The Switchblade' subsequently appeared throughout June, setting up the aforementioned IWGP World Heavyweight title defence vs. Cole, Adam Page, and Kazuchika Okada for the same super-show. Bar a February outing vs. Trent Beretta, Jay White's entire existence within AEW has had Adam Cole at its forefront.

It's an easy move, given both men's allegiance to the diluted Bullet Club supergroup, but perhaps it was a clever ploy by Tony Khan, laying out the blueprints in the hopes that he'd one day land Jay White on an exclusive deal.

There's no saying it's official as of this publication mind - White may already be in the running order for the post-WrestleMania 39 Raw - so if AEW can't get Jay White, who, exactly, do they send out?
