Perhaps another obvious selection, but you may not be aware of just how decorated Dan "The Beast" Severn was. Severn, a former alternate for the U.S. Olympic wrestling team, burst onto the UFC scene in the 1990's going 9-3. During his run, he'd defeat eventual WWF superstar Ken Shamrock, future WCW wrestler Tank Abbott, and also Paul Varleans, who would go on to compete in ECW. Severn won two UFC tournaments, as well as the UFC Superfight Championship. In 1998 and 1999, Severn would take a bit of a break from the UFC, but not MMA altogether, as he made the jump to the WWE. Severn joined the WWE as a part of a storyline with the National Wrestling Alliance, whose world title he held. Severn would hold the NWA title for four years before eventually relinquishing the strap, and would return to the UFC once in 2000, losing to Pedro Rizzo. Severn would continue to fight on the regional circuit until 2012, when at 54-years old, he retired with over 100 wins. Severn is also a UFC Hall of Famer.
