Or, y'know, just watch Randy Savage do him the ultimate favour at Spring Stampede 1997.

This was DDP's first WCW pay-per-view main event, and he'll never forget it as long as he lives. One of the biggest stars in wrestling history stared at the lights for him following a fabulous 'No DQ' brawl, and a headline babyface star was born. There's a crafty-yet-sweet moment right at the end when it's pretty clear that Page is thanking Randy for the match.

'Macho Man' was known to map out his bouts in painstaking detail, and he was determined to make DDP on the night by delivering a performance that'd go down in WCW history. It would. Randy came through on his promises to elevate Page, but DDP had to hold up his side of the bargain by being a heavyweight face counterpoint to the nWo's villainous ways.

This one match would begin Page's two-year long march towards the big gold belt. You won't be too shocked to learn there will be a bit more commentary on that to come. For now, go watch Savage show what Vince McMahon and the WWF were missing three years earlier!
