Few fans talk about Mick Foley's WCW run with the same glowing reverence they do for his WWF/WWE career. That's understandable, because Mick would go on to achieve immortality as Mankind, Dude Love and Cactus Jack via blistering showings vs. The Undertaker, The Rock, Steve Austin, Triple H and more after leaving WCW in 1994. However, Foley can look back on some really meaty matches during his time as Cactus in Atlanta.

For example: Spring Stampede 1994.

WCW added wild contrast to the main event between Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat by booking Cactus and Maxx Payne vs. The Nasty Boys in a violent 'Chicago Street Fight'. All four of these dudes had the time of the lives battering the crap out of one another in a chaotic eight-minute scrap.

It was classic ECW before that was even a thing, and certainly wasn't the sort of thing anyone would associate with mid-90s WCW. Things would get less traditional in the main event scene and more cartoony on the undercard once Hulk Hogan signed in the summer, so this match still acts as a curious reminder of WCW's NWA roots.
