'Stone Cold' didn't really do heel comedy until 2001, but Steve Austin was no stranger to being OTT for a giggle in WCW. Together, he teamed with Brian Pillman to produce a cracking send-up of Four Horsemen duo Ric Flair and Anderson on the 5 June 1993 episode of Saturday Night.

A Flair For The Gold? Nah, mate. This was 'A Flair For The Old', and WCW viewers couldn't believe their eyes. They sat and watched the Hollywood Blondes rip on Ric and Arn like nobody else before them. Keep in mind that this was the summer of '93, and wrestlers were making light of Flair's erm...advanced veteran status even then.

Flair didn't officially officially retire until 2022.

The greatest thing one could say about 'A Flair For The Old' is that it pre-empted shenanigans the New Age Outlaws would get up to over in the WWF with LOD and other older teams by four-five years. It also let Austin and Pillman show off their personalities and comedic timing. It's just a shame WCW failed to capitalise on any of this and lost out on Austin in particular.
