32. Jey Uso Makes His Choice (March 6th, 2023)

It was yet another peak in a saga WWE just couldn't go wrong with, and yet more justification as to why the company stuck with Bloodline family drama as long as they did. When it connected, absolutely nothing in wrestling could touch it.

The earth-shattering climax to the Royal Rumble main event weeks earlier saw Sami Zayn at long last break away from the controlling Roman Reigns in defence of his former friend Kevin Owens, or at very least defiance of the violence The Bloodline were prepared unleash his wrestling soulmate. No longer fearing the consequences, Zayn made his choice, but the true shock was how WWE provided yet more mystery after the monster payoff.

Jey Uso had no problem doing his duties when Owens was in the line of fire, but he stopped short with Sami. He'd refused to accept Zayn for so long (itself a detail tied to Roman's control), but having done just that in gripping fashion (in a moment that features elsewhere on this list), he was trying to stay brave and righteous.

He walked away. He too, had made his choice. Or had he?

On March 6th, Jey appeared to stand with Sami, brushing past brother Jimmy to have the courage of his convictions at long last. It was heart over head and water over blood...until it wasn't. Uso swerve-turned on his former friend, screaming almost mournfully about how he had to choose family. The Usos beat up Zayn until Cody Rhodes made the save, visibly disappointed that Jet had once again chosen the path of least resistance.
