Weirdest. WrestleMania. Ever.

'Mania 36 was that by default by virtue of being locked away behind closed doors at WWE's Performance Center. COVID had gripped the globe, forced the company's hand, and everyone had to pull together to try and lift spirits of fans stuck at home. Those stressed out fans were grateful they had something to watch, but...do you remember every match that happened across both nights in 2020?

Check out some of these pearlers. Elias vs. King Corbin, John Morrison vs. Jimmy Uso vs. Kofi Kingston in a three-way ladder bout for the SmackDown Tag Titles (yes, wrestlers competing individually for tag belts - always a weird look), Aleister Black vs. Bobby Lashley, The Street Profits vs. Angel Garza and Austin Theory. A fair number of matches spread across that Saturday and Sunday will be ones you’ve probably forgotten about. It'd take someone with an encyclopaedic knowledge of Malakai Black or Lashley's careers to tell you everything that happened in the PC between them.

'Mania 36's surroundings looked like something unhinged only WWE's video games could throw it up in the Community Creations suite. It was one of those Create-An-Arena specials in real life. Parts of 2020 might not have felt like they were happening in the real world, but this was an actual thing.

Some of the most forgettable matches in WrestleMania history happened once the promotion was relegated from Tampa's lush stadium to Orlando's plush (for a training facility) but cold (for putting on actual shows) venue. What an odd point in the 'Mania story.

Fingers crossed we never see anything of the sort again.
