Mike Awesome debuted on the 10 April 2000 Nitro as a dangerous badass flying in from ECW. Less than three months later, he was shown talking to Nitro Girl "Beef" (oh dear) on the 10 July episode. Then, WCW doubled down on that by literally making Mike's gimmick that he liked dating bigger women.
Shock jock style colour commentator Mark Madden revealed Awesome's new nickname on the 18 July episode. If you thought this brief (and awful) idea gave way to something better, then apologies in advance. It wasn't long until Mike was chopping and changing yet again.
