3. Ground Zero: In Your House
Attendance: 4,963
And back we come to the humble Louisville Gardens in Kentucky, this time during a period the WWF should've known better. Unlike in 1995 and 1996, the product was starting to heat up again by late-1997. Characters like 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and D-Generation X had started to change the game. They phased out old kid-friendly elements and were a bit raunchier.
For some reason, in between drawing 20,213 for SummerSlam '97 and a massive 21,151 for the first Hell In A Cell match at In Your House: Badd Blood, the WWF decided on the same 6,000 capacity venue that had hosted IYH 3. It's weird to watch a big match like The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels, just one month before HIAC, work in front of a house show-worthy 4,963 fans.
Hell, the company even managed to lure in more than double that (11,000) to the NEC in Birmingham, England for the house show-tactic One Night Only just 13 nights later. This wasn't great planning from a promotion who had lost faith in their own IYH idea; note the show was dubbed Ground Zero: In Your House. A subtitle came first.
