Similar to Scott Dawson going through various partners before finding his match in Dash Wilder, Jason Jordan was part of NXT's tag team scene long before he struck gold as a result of his partnership with Chad Gable.

The now-storyline son of Kurt Angle was with the developmental brand from the start, first appearing on its second television taping and existing as a background player for more than three years before coming to prominence in tandem with the former Olympian. In retrospect it's surprising that he wasn't released during that period, given that his most notable appearances were alongside Tye Dillinger as part of another makeshift tag team seemingly thrown together to give The Ascension somebody other than no-name jobbers to compete with.

The two never actually ended up in a programme with Konnor and Viktor, however, as after just two wins in spring 2014 the plug was pulled on their push and they never scored a victory on television again. They nevertheless continued to exist as fodder for the other teams that began to arise around the same time, such as the Vaudevillains and the Lucha Dragons, for the best part of a year.

Their split was confirmed in early 2015 by a quick match that saw Jordan dispatch of Dillinger, earning his first ever singles win, and both members have managed to make it to Raw and SmackDown individually in the years since, which can't be said for any of the other male teams on this list.
