6 Reasons Bray Wyatt Must Win WWE Title At Elimination Chamber 2017
5. Wyatt Vs. Orton Has Been Building For Months
Of course, it’s more than just a case of John Cena needing to lose that puts Bray Wyatt in pole position to win. The prospective Wyatt vs. Orton feud that may be in store as a result is one that’s been steadily brewing away since way back in August of 2016.
With Orton still licking his wounds from a SummerSlam clash with Brock Lesnar, he became the subject of Wyatt’s ever-eerie, but noticeably more coherent, sermon-like promos. That led to Orton eventually losing to Wyatt when they headlined No Mercy in October, before just two days later he’d succumb to Bray’s ways by joining the Wyatt Family. A reign as Tag Team Champions followed but, more significantly, Orton’s time in the Family saw the faction’s numbers steadily diminish.
Erick Rowan was sidelined with injury, Luke Harper turned his back on the group, until only Wyatt and Orton remained. The stable's ranks have never been so sparse and now the two surviving members could be set to face-off for the title at WrestleMania.
With a unique story like that, the company have themselves a compelling feud and the chance to deliver a long-term pay-off—a chance that feels too good to pass up.
