6 Reasons Last Night's WWE Raw Made You Change The Channel
4. Super Cena Rises Above #1 Contender Competition
At SummerSlam, John Cena got his ass kicked. He was beaten in a way that Triple H could have reasonably doubted whether Cena deserved a second match. But WWE booked things in reverse, having Cena invoke and receive his rematch, then destroy the Wyatt Family. Then Triple H says he has doubts about Cena emerging from a rematch with Lesnar intact, much less victorious. So we as fans get a six-man tag match with each competitor vying for Triple Hs attention and consideration as No. 1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. (But even that was poorly constructed. Seth Rollins and Randy Orton basically told Hunter to let Cena have the title match and theyd pick the bones. So what was the point of the six-man match again?) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kwjAgpf791Y Cena spent much of the match on the apron pacing about and looking anguished at point that Chris Jericho might win the bout for his team. When Cena finally tagged in, he once again overcame the odds and dropped Kane. After the match, Rollins tried to ambush Cena while he barked at Triple H. Instead of fighting back, Cena simply absorbed the blows, hoisted Rollins up and looked at Triple H while Rollins flailed helplessly, and hit an AA onto the announcers table. And so were right back where we were last week, with Cena declaring hes ready for a rematch with Lesnar, only now Rollins has been made to look like an impotent peon. Because Cena needed to prove himself. Riiiight.
