6 Reasons Why The Undertaker Should Win At WWE SummerSlam
4. WWE Needs Heroes From The Past
Wrestling as a whole is an industry that has always taken great pride in its past. The stars of previous eras are heralded with high reverence, which is the reason why Hall of Fame inductions are treated as a big deal.
WWE has had a recent exodus of several well-loved personalities from yesteryear. In the case of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and Dusty Rhodes, they passed away very recently and are still being mourned by our community. Piper was only 61 years old, seemingly far too young to leave us.
Another significant void in the legends camp is for very negative reasons. The Hulk Hogan controversy has resulted in a complete shunning from WWE and likely won't be fixed anytime in the near future.
There are a few beloved stars from the past that still pop up from time to time. Ric Flair, Bret Hart, and Shawn Michaels are good examples of heroes that are still with us, but none are as active as The Undertaker.
The Deadman began his career in the mid-1980s and even though it's sporadic, he still performs in Pay-Per-View main events. We fans who've watched for several decades could use someone from our childhood that we can root for. If Undertaker beats Lesnar, he'll be that hero.
