6 Reasons You Should Be Watching Impact Wrestling

2. The Real Man

Move over Becky Lynch because Tessa Blanchard’s separating the men from the boys. While Becky tangles with the charisma vacuum they call Natalya for the millionth time, Tessa Blanchard is doing war with the men. Recently, she was one half of the first intergender main event in Impact history opposite Sami Callihan. They repeated the feat again a few weeks later at Unbreakable and while Tessa lost both matches (the 2nd thanks to some rather heavy handed shenanigans), she looked every bit Callihan’s equal in defeat.

Also worth mentioning is her decisive victory over Callihan stablemate and current X-Division champion, Jake Crist. Could an X-Division title run be on the cards in the near future? It seems likely and at this rate, so does a run with the world title. Should Blanchard pull off the latter, she’ll be the first woman to bag a major world title in US wrestling history.

With the Callihan feud far from over and at just 24 years of age, the sky’s the limit for both Blanchard and for women’s wrestling in general.
