6 Talents That NJPW Desperately NEEDS Back

2. Will Ospreay

While Zack Sabre Jr stayed in Japan, Ospreay went abroad, representing RevPro as their newest Heavyweight champion. Unfortunately that's left him out of the running for the company he works best with in NJPW.

When Kenny Omega had left, NJPW's need for a top foreign babyface was evident. Thanks to a nice stint with the NEVER Open-weight title, a legendary Best Of The Super Jr's run, another iconic reign with IWGP Jr Heavyweight title, and a great run in the G1 Climax, Ospreay became the perfect replacement. He works a style that hits hard and flies high. Fans of every background have something to love whenever Ospreay gets into the ring.

Ospreay's transition into heavyweight was completed by finally besting his countryman and long time rival in Zack Sabre Jr for the RPW British Heavyweight title. Unfortunately, Ospreay hasn't taken a step past that peak he's just reached. He is stuck in stasis. With the state of the world putting a damper on things though, it's unlikely to see Ospreay back in NJPW in any capacity for the foreseeable future. Once he does return though, NJPW fans will be more than overjoyed to see the intense brand of action that he brought with him every night.

The sky is the limit for this star. He has a promising future in G1 tournaments and looks to have a healthy reign with the RPW title.

He may even be challenging for IWGP gold.
