6 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dark (Sep 8)

5. Eddie Kingston vs. Lee Johnson

Eddie Kingston
AEW

Always one of Dark's finest jobbers, Lee Johnson has slotted into a peripheral role as part of MJF's campaign party on Dynamite despite his insane 0-14 record. He is one of several gems unearthed by the promotion since the onset of the global health crisis and serves these opportunities, though he ate a hard loss to Eddie Kingston here, falling via spinning backfist.

Kingston played ring general throughout. He stalked Johnson while he was down on the mat, treated him with disdain, and mocked the crowd for clapping for him. Lee was chopped down and battered before mounting a comeback via springboard dropkick and Blue Thunder Bomb. This scored a two-count, though Eddie brought it to a close after deciding "enough is enough."

A necessary win for Kingston here, though he looked good in All Out's Casino Battle Royale.
