6 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Rampage (11 May - Results & Review)

Downs...

2. This Won’t Cut It

Bryan Keith
AEW

Bryan Keith beating JD Drake in three minutes was pointless programming.

Like, where's the story or character development to speak of here, y'know? Matches for the sake of matches can be fine, but there needs to be something for people tuning in to invest themselves in. Unfortunately, Keith's latest TV bout didn't have that "something". It was fairly useless.

Brace yourselves for a bit of text-based brutality. Overall, Keith vs. Drake looked, moved and sounded like the kind of fare you'd see on some local independent card. That's not meant as a knock on the indys, because every promotion has its place, but people expect a little more bang for their buck from a major outlet like AEW.

This sort of win won't cut it for Bryan Keith long-term. He was only politely applauded for seeing off Drake, and even Tony Schiavone (who is rarely lost for words) didn't have a whole lot to say about the segment. The match was even weaker than Daniel Garcia's two-min win over KM on Collision, which says it all.
