6 Ups & 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (July 27)

3. Up - No Way To Run

After defeating Cutler, Jose took the microphone to cut his first in-ring promo in NXT, and it was a good one. He talked about how he was only trying to help Austin Aries out, but Aries responded with a cheap shot and an attack. When he sent Aries running a couple of weeks ago, he proved that "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived" was the biggest coward in NXT. He finished by promising to kick Aries's ass.

Jose's promo was great not because of what he said, but because of how he said it. There was almost a Samoa Joe vibe in the sense that Jose was reading lines written by the guys who script everything, but he was making their hackneyed work his own. This promo really made Jose's future in NXT (or WWE - reportedly he was almost called up instead of Mojo Rawley and could potentially come to the main roster soon) look a whole lot brighter.
