Friday's SmackDown marked the first time John Morrison and Kofi Kingston had worked in-ring since a Triple Threat house show bout with Dolph Ziggler on 6 November 2011. On TV, they haven't scrapped since JoMo and The Miz beat Kofi and Rey Mysterio on the 5 January 2009 Raw.

That's insane, and so were some of the spots they worked over a decade on.

Kingston's push-up splash (using the ropes and landing on top of Morrison outside the ring) and John's parkour antics (like a delicious Trouble In Paradise counter kick) were brilliant additions to a match in which both guys appeared to be enjoying themselves. That came across to the fans, and they too were more into things as a result.

Morrison's Splanish Fly from the middle rope was also meaty, and the match became a game of 'can you top this?'. That's fine, because both men could. They had a ball, they got to work together for the first time in a long time and they enhanced SmackDown.

Now, they can try to top one another's elimination escapes at the Rumble.
