6 Ups & 3 Downs For AEW Collision (April 13 - Results & Review)

1. An Excellent Main Event

AEW

From the moment it launched last summer, AEW Collision has prided itself on delivering fantastic main events, and that was a tradition withheld on this week's show. In Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Kyle Fletcher & Powerhouse Hobbs, Collision wrapped up in spectacular fashion.

Getting nearly 26 minutes, this was a barn-burner that gave all four men their respective times to shine, concluding with Claudio pinning Fletcher with the Nautraliser as a nice way to put further momentum behind Castagnoli ahead of his match against Will Ospreay on Wednesday. Of course, that match itself will likely be putting additional momentum behind Ospreay ahead of the Aerial Assassin's own match against Danielson at Dynasty.

This was 26 minutes of great professional wrestling action, with Claudio Castagnoli often positioned as the star of the match, hitting plenty of his trademark, magnificent European uppercuts, and also locking in his utterly beautiful Sharpshooter as particular highlights.

One slight negative here, mind, is how the action did dive a little too much towards the chaotic at times. By that, this writer means spending way too much time outside the ring without any risk of a count-out, or by how, towards the end of the match, there were too many times when the illegal men were in the ring. Again, such moans are very much down to your own pro wrestling tastes, and the excellent action itself did enough to just about let these issues slide.

Now, here's to looking forward to Claudio vs. Ospreay on Wednesday and Danielson vs. Ospreay next weekend - two matches that should be phenomenal.
