6 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (27 Oct)

5. Darby Thwarts MJF

MJF is scared
AEW

A beautifully prickish squash match saw MJF flatten overmatched Bryce Donovan in a few seconds, pinning the jobber with a fist on his chest after the Heatseeker, but what happened afterwards was more important.

Darby Allin finally returned to television after being ambushed by MJF and his RETRIBUTION cosplaying buddies a few weeks prior. Disguised in the crowd, he jumped The Pinnacle from behind to even the odds for Sting, effectively confirming his Full Gear match with MJF afterwards.

All of this was well done. MJF orchestrated a fake Sting interruption, dropping the lights and playing the legend's music before popping daft with Spears. Wardlow, who has absolutely had enough of this sh*t, stayed stoic while the infants played, furthering that dynamic. The stunt made Sting's eventual interruption all the more impactful too.

Props to Wardlow for taking a thumb-tacked skateboard to the back for his boss. It can't be long before the big guy decides enough is enough.
