6 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jul 28)

2. The Exact Same

Since his arrival at Slammiversary, Heath's Impact run has been very similar to that of his initial SmackDown run after the 2016 draft.

'The Hottest Free Agent' claimed to be in Impact to make a name for himself at the recent pay-per-view, only to be told backstage that he didn't actually have a place on the roster. With security refusing to allow him entry last week, the former multi-time Tag Team Champion interrupted Moose during a backstage interview this week, and was granted a TNA World Heavyweight Championship opportunity for next Tuesday. Executive vice president Scott D'Amore entered the scene not long after, offering Heath an Impact contract should he pin 'Mr Impact Wrestling'.

Now, this isn't a bad story to use. It's just that we've already seen this exact thing with Heath in the past. Had Impact used this for someone else, such as the impending arrival of Brian Myers, then perhaps it would have been better. It simply isn't a creative way to introduce Heath to a new company. At least the match won't be terrible.
