4. Perez, Davenport Ramp Up The Violence

Plunder brawls always carry the risk of just being a series of weapons shots to fill the time and to mask a lack of talent or ability.

But Roxanne Perez and Blair Davenport had a really nice Weapons Wild match Sunday night, with Perez coming out on top after hitting Pop Rox onto a pile of chairs. The match was also aided in an unusual way: Roxanne’s sister at ringside.

Family sitting ringside can be a crapshoot, but Perez’s sister was perfect in her role, sobbing when Roxanne was being attacked and then cheering through the tears when she made her comeback and splashed Blair through the table in front of her.

If this match’s goal was to show that the “happy to be here” Perez is gone and replaced with a more aggressive, serious wrestler, this worked nicely.
