2. New Day’s Nothing Title Reign

What did Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods really achieve after winning the tag belts from The War Raiders at WrestleMania 41? They’ve been kicking around doing very little of any real consequence, and now New Day has dropped the straps. The actual match they worked vs. Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh itself was a good watch technically, and that'll be in the ‘Ups’ section, but WWE don’t get a pass for how weak and tepid New Day’s title reign actually was.

Kofi and Xavier’s heel turn started off hot late last year, but creative didn’t give them enough to work with as champs at all. At all! They've often come across as a complete afterthought, and now the pair have nothing to brag about. This is a sad decline for Kingston and Woods after turning heads by slapping down old partner Big E. Without him making even a one-off comeback for a tag bout, there's...nothing to write home about for New Day.

This is a major problem.

Kofi and Xavier should've been true leaders for the tag-team division on Mondays, but their latest reign won't be remembered by most. Genuinely, can you name a memorable feud they worked in the title hot seat?! It's pretty challenging to even think of stand out matches or promos they cut, being brutally honest.

So, yeah, the closing stretch of this title bout is worth seeing if you like Finn and JD doing their thing, but New Day should be concerned about what's going on for them creatively. Sod all would just about sum it up, sadly.
