The announcers really put over Montez Ford’s long-rumored singles turn Monday night as he battled Seth Rollins.

And it was a great effort from one-half of the Street Profits. The brash wrestler hung with Rollins and even came close a couple times to putting him away. He showed off a lot of his offense, but also kept enough in reserve that if and when they run this back, fans will see new stuff then.

But what also was noticeable was Ford duping Angelo Dawkins on a game of rock-paper-scissors to determine who would face Rollins. Montez grabbed the referee and rushed the ring to start the match. It also was notable that Dawkins was nowhere to be seen during the match, apparently just walking to the back rather than being at ringside to cheer on his partner.

Now, Dawkins did return to save Ford from a post-match stomp, but it still raised questions whether they would tease a split between the two, especially after losing a tag title match again. Layers, man, layers.
