5. Moving Nicely Towards A Double Turn

Fingers crossed that nobody reading this missed Sami Zayn’s line in a backstage promo about the world he believes in perhaps not existing. That was awesome, and it's a teaser for what's coming next. Then, during his match, Sami got distracted by Trick Williams soaking up fan adulation, took his eye off the ball as a result and stared at the lights for Aleister Black. What was that you were saying, Zayn? WWE ain't how you want it to be.

This was a nice win for Black, but the bigger story is that Sami and Trick are heading into double turn territory. So, WWE can read the room on this but not in the top title picture? Interesting. What a typically well-worked match for workers as accomplished as Sami and Aleister though. One gets the feeling they could call bouts like this in the ring without really any pre-planning to speak of.

That's talent. Maybe things aren't a lost cause for Black after all.

Linking Sami's impending heel turn in with the behaviour of one Randy Orton is smart too. He's noticing how others are winning championships and getting WrestleMania title shots by being evil. Meanwhile, his willingness to 'be kind' is costing him time and time again. If Zayn wants to look his kid in the eye and say he's been WWE or World Heavyweight Champion, then he'll need to sell his soul along the way. That's a good narrative backdrop for the stuff with Williams.

Also, if it leads to Trick becoming a breakout babyface smash hit then even better.
