6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Oct 6 - Results & Review)
2. Surprisingly Low Quality
Time to admit something: This writer saw Rey Mysterio vs. Bobby Lashley on paper and thought, 'This will be amazing'. It wasn't awful, but the match didn't properly click either. Maybe that was due to the sheer numbers around ringside, or maybe Rey-Rey and big Bob just don't have much chemistry.
It happens.
Let's hope Fastlane's six-man has a bit more zip to it than this bout did though. Man, it always feels dirty to give one of Mysterio's matches a 'Down', but you've got to call 'em like you see 'em. Some fans out there would've enjoyed it, but this one came away ever-so-slightly disappointed.
Overall, Lashley didn't do the dominating big man stuff that was expected. That's weird, because Rey is one of the best when it comes to fighting from underneath as a heroic underdog. One doesn't want to go so far as to say these veterans were on autopilot, but better was anticipated.
