6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Sept 9)

1. That Kross-Jacket Fade Out

Oh boy, what a killer finish.

Pun intended, because the way WWE faded to black just as Drew McIntyre faded to Karrion Kross' submission hold was gorgeous. It was an excellent visual, and one which made Kross look like one of the most dangerous men on the roster.

Everything clicked as SmackDown closed. Karrion looked like a real threat, McIntyre can't afford to keep overlooking Kross in favour of pursuing The Bloodline, and Scarlett smiled a sick smile. She had Paul Heyman vibes here; Scarlett didn't dominate the frame, but kept herself in view as Kross choked the life out of Drew.

Either this Karrion vs. Drew showdown or a rematch between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle could be your Extreme Rules main event. WWE are in a good spot there, because major questions were raised about the pay-per-view's headliner due to Roman Reigns skipping it.
