6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 42 - Sunday (Results & Review)

2. A Letter-Perfect 'Mania Debut

If you drew up the perfect WrestleMania debut for Oba Femi, it very likely would look exactly as it did Sunday as the opening match for night two.

Femi was the first wrestler out, strutting down the long ramp to 50,000 fans chanting his name. From there, it only got better, with Oba no-selling Brock Lesnar’s clotheslines. Brock dragged Oba outside and, in a show of desperation, drove him into the post and steps before hitting a series of German suplexes.

Lesnar hit the F-5, but Femi shrugged it off and rose up to plant Brock with a chokeslam, then followed it up with a Fall from Grace to vanquish the Beast.

It was a masterful job, avoiding any finisher spam or kickouts and just letting Oba dominate and look invincible. Femi came out of that match as the clear Next Big Thing and a massive star.
