1. Jey’s Descent Continues

The pressure of reclaiming past glory clearly is consuming Jey Uso, and the challenge will be whether he fully succumbs or if he can pull back in time.

That descent continued Monday night when he asked for a match with LA Knight as payback for Wrestlepalooza. He argued with his brother Jimmy Uso about it, and when Cody Rhodes confronted him (at Jimmy’s request), Jey kept staring at the Undisputed WWE Championship while insisting he’d find a way back to the top.

Uso then went out and battled Knight. The match itself was decent, but it was a backdrop for the extracurriculars. Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker distracted Knight, who fought them off before turning around into an opportunistic spear and splash, giving Jey the win.

Afterward, Uso left LA to the wolves, only for Jimmy to come out and try to rally his brother. Jey was having none of it and left, forcing Jimmy to make the save alone (with a steel chair).

Jey taking the cheap route to get the win, leaving his brother to make the save himself, and eyeballing Cody’s title all point to Uso descending further into the abyss. He might not fully get there, but this is good character development for someone whose main event run was always questioned and likely doubts his ability to get back there.
